Kōkeʻe Lodge
rehabilitating historic spaces
Hale Puna has played an instrumental role in rehabilitating Kokee Lodge, located on Kauai’s West side, in Kōkeʻe State Park. Over $300,000 has been invested in repairing wood floors, rehabilitating the stone fireplace, refurbishing the old windows, purchasing new kitchen appliances, and decorating with original artwork.
fostering economic development
Kokee Lodge has increased revenues from $600,000/year in 2016 to $3 million/year. Most of this revenue is returned to the community in the form of wages for employees, most of whom come from the West side of Kauaʻi.
MORE OPEN HOURS AND EVENTS
The Lodge now features a Farm-to-Table restaurant and bar, a thriving gift shop featuring work from local artisans, and coffee shop for visitors and locals alike. They have hosted over 100 events in the last 5 years, including storytelling, live theater, live music from local musicians, and the popular Kauaʻi Old Time Gathering.
